This really doesn't have anything to do with my awesome accomplishment, but okay, I'll answer. I follow him because contrary to your statement, he and I had a pretty civil talk over PM, I like the guy, so I end up following him.

It's like you said over on Psychopath's post: It's none of your business that I follow DoctorStrongbad, and I'd very much appreciate if you drop it. I'll follow and unfollow him based on what I see on the forums, not based on things told me by someone who's going out of his way to try to convince people to stop following him.

To get off that topic, congrats on getting a platinum trophy. I've never got one myself. The closest I've ever got was Assassins Creed 2, but I'm not collecting all 100 little feathers throughout the game. Too much work and not worth it.

I got the AC2 platinum, too, and I totally agree about the feathers. I don't know why they have to shoehorn in useless collectibles.
A lot of games do that, though. If there are collectibles in a game, it's going to have a trophy to earn if you collect all of them. Good thing I've never been someone to obsess over getting all of the trophies for a game. I'll only actually try to get a few here and there. It's just not worth it to get all the trophies for a game.
Yeah, I know it's not just AC, but can't the collectibles be useful? Bioshock and Dead Space have "collectibles" in the form of recordings and diaries (with the exception of Peng's treasure), actual worldbuilding stuff. Why can't adventure game follow suit?
Couldn't tell ya, man. That's just how some game developers think...or don't think.
I hope games eventually phase those out, but the swell play-time, so I think they're here to stay.
